We need challenges to be able to grow our skills.
Everyone should be able to run a workshop, present to an audience, ask for a promotion or suggest something alternative to a peer.
We all have to manage these situations in our jobs, which fan at times, feel challenging and sometimes feel like it can block career growth & career progression.
I created Career Growth Challenges to help readers like you identify and overcome challenges or even ‘create your own’, so that you can become more confident in your skills, and move past these kind of situations with ease.
Challenges don't go away, you just become better at managing them with the skills you develop.
There are two main types of circumstances I focus on:
A circumstance where you want something in your career, such as a promotion, and don’t know how to approach it or get it
A circumstance that is happening or has happened to you in your career and you need to be able to overcome it. An example is you have been given some feedback and don’t know how to implement it.
Everyone faces these two types of circumstances in their jobs, whether they are early in their career or in senior and higher positions
Through my newsletter, I aspire to help boost your confidence by 1% every week in tackling those career challenges. This will help you feel progressively more confident and foster a sense of ownership over your career path
Small, intentional, consistent actions in our careers compound and you don’t need to give up all that much to achieve that growth and stay ahead.
Get started with the small action of subscribing now to my newsletter which is a weekly read of less than five minutes, delivered to your inbox or available in the app. Unsubscribe anytime.
There are also some really great authors here on Substack who post about similar things, who are in my recommendations on my profile under ‘Reads’.
